The first series features Eugene Skeef, the extraordinary South African multi-media artist with several credits as a poet, composer, animator and mentor to Sona Jobarteh and other leading artists.
Hosted by Kwesi Owusu, Eugene will tell the incredible story of the Soweto uprising in 1976, his work with Steve Biko and his days in London. Eugene will share unique insights into his collaborations with The African Dawn, Ngugi Wa’ Thiongo, Brian Eno, Bheki Mseleku, Mariam Makeba, Tunde Jegede and others.
